Experience
Ben Rumsey, MAI, is a commercial real estate valuation professional with over a decade of experience appraising a wide range of property types throughout the Central Coast, Greater San Francisco Bay Area, and Central Valley. He brings a deep understanding of local market dynamics, investment fundamentals, and disciplined valuation methodology to every assignment.
Ben began his career in commercial appraisal more than 13 years ago and spent the majority of that time with a respected regional appraisal firm based in Aptos, California. Over the course of his career, he has completed valuations for lenders, attorneys, investors, public agencies, and private clients, with experience across industrial, office, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, land, agricultural, and special-purpose properties. His work has supported financing, acquisitions and dispositions, estate planning, partnership matters, and tax-related purposes. He is known for delivering clear, well-supported analyses that reflect both market realities and sound appraisal standards.
Ben’s background working on complex income-producing properties has given him a strong foundation in income capitalization techniques, market rent analysis, highest and best use studies, and narrative reporting for review and court-ready purposes.
In addition to his valuation background, Ben is actively involved in the commercial real estate brokerage industry, which provides ongoing exposure to live transactions, leasing trends, investor behavior, and real-time market movement. This dual perspective allows him to approach valuation with a practical understanding of how properties actually trade and perform in the market.
